Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our training programs, enrollment, and how it all works.

Enrollment & Scheduling

When do classes start?
New classes start every Monday. You pick the start date that works for your schedule when you enroll.
What's the difference between the 4-week and 8-week options?
Same content, different pace. The 4-week version requires 4 to 6 hours per week. The 8-week version requires 2 to 3 hours per week. Both cover the full Tax Return Analysis curriculum. Financial Statement Analysis adds approximately 4 additional weeks to either option.
Can team members start at different times?
Yes. Each person enrolls in the cohort that fits their schedule. With enterprise enrollment (10+), we can coordinate start dates across your team and provide a private orientation call.
What if someone can't attend a live meeting?
Live meetings are recorded and available for review. However, participation in meetings and case study reviews is part of earning the certificate, so we encourage attendance when possible.
How do I enroll my team?
For teams of 10 or more, book a call with Joe Davis to set up enterprise enrollment with custom progress reports and a private orientation. For smaller groups, you can enroll directly from the pricing page.

Course Content

What topics does the training cover?
The comprehensive training covers Tax Return Analysis (1040s, business returns, K-1s, pass-through entities, global cashflow analysis) and Financial Statement Analysis (balance sheets, income statements, statement of cashflows, liquidity, leverage, profitability). We also offer a separate CRE Lending course covering property types, loan structures, income analysis, appraisal review, risk assessment, and portfolio monitoring.
How do the case studies work?
You choose from 11 individualized case studies ranging from simple 1040s to complex multi-entity pass-through scenarios. During live meetings, you work through them in small groups with our trainers, who review your analysis and provide immediate feedback. This is not auto-graded. A real trainer looks at your work.
What is Ask The Experts?
During and after your training, you can submit real tax return or financial statement questions from your actual deals. Our trainers answer them personally. We also publish answers (anonymized) via email and LinkedIn so the whole community benefits.
Is the training relevant for experienced lenders?
Yes. Many of our students have years of experience but received only on-the-job or software-focused training. Others are shifting between lending types (consumer to business, for example) or want to fill specific gaps in areas like K-1s, pass-through entities, or complex borrowers. The modules are self-paced, so experienced lenders can move quickly through familiar content and slow down where it matters.

CRE Course

What's the difference between the CRE course and the main training?
The main training covers tax return and financial statement analysis for all lending types. The CRE course is focused specifically on commercial real estate lending: property types, loan structures, income analysis, appraisal review, risk assessment, and portfolio monitoring. They complement each other but cover different material.
Can I take the CRE course without the main training?
Yes. The CRE course is available stand-alone for $1,500. If you also enroll in the comprehensive training, you can add CRE for $500.
Who created the CRE course?
Joe Davis, our Senior Credit Trainer. Joe brings 25+ years of banking experience and most recently served as Chief Credit Officer at a $1.2 billion community bank. Learn more about our trainers.

Pricing & Logistics

What's included in the price?
Everything. Modules, handouts, quizzes, case studies with live review, weekly meetings, Ask The Experts access, three digital reference manuals, and the Global Cashflow Analysis Worksheet. Enterprise students (10+) also receive physical manuals, a private orientation call, and custom progress reports.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If a participant does not show increased confidence and competence within three months of earning their certificate, we refund the full enrollment fee. No questions asked.
Do you offer in-person training?
Yes. We offer custom on-site workshops at your institution, typically 2 to 3 days, for up to 40 attendees. The fee includes customization, materials, travel, and post-training online refresher access. Book a call to discuss your needs.
Do you offer continuing education (CE) credits?
We provide a certificate of completion for students who finish the required modules, case studies, and meetings. For specific CE credit requirements at your institution or state, please contact us so we can help you determine if our training qualifies.
What technology do I need?
A computer with a web browser (Chrome or Edge work best), internet access, and the ability to join Zoom meetings for the live sessions. The on-demand modules work on any device, including tablets and phones, though we recommend a desktop or laptop for the best experience.
